Seminars & Camps

Camp was a blast! Hope to see everyone next year!

Some comments about camp:

The HyCaliber Agility Camp was my first so I was a bit apprehensive.  I wondered if I would fit in, since I am older and have a beginner dog.  I found that everyone at the camp was friendly, supportive and helpful.  Everyone shared ideas with those that were having a specific problem.  Katie and Jess were wonderful; they spread their time over the wide range of levels and skills and offered enough training and handling suggestions and directions to fill a book.  I will be there next year and will bring some friends along.

Don’t miss out, this is the best Camp in the Northeast.

Katie and Jessica make a great teaching team. Both are very observant, and have an uncanny ability to recognize the strength and weakness of each team. Both work to show how to maximize team strength, and how to improve weak areas. For example, I have a Velcro dog. Rather than sending him off to obstacles, I learned to play into that as a strength, by figuring out exactly what distance was in his comfort zone.

Also, having three days away from home, away from distractions, as opposed to just an hour or so of class, was really helpful.

Jessica and Katie are dedicated to the sport of agility and helping their students  train our dogs.

They were patient and understanding answering questions and working out solutions to various training issues.

Always smiling and keeping fun in the sport, reminding us that the dogs are not robots and they too should be enjoying

what we're doing together.  I would recommend them both as trainers together and individually.

Camp was great fun for Maggie and I, she's even on her way to learning to swim.

I thoroughly enjoyed "agility camp" with my Sheltie, Calder.  I came away feeling encouraged about the next steps to take for his training.  Katie & Jessica provided insightful information for me to use in

trying to persuade Calder that this is a team effort and he needs to listen to my input.  We had great fun and I loved the beautiful site, including the river to play in.  Our "baby dog" group was a good one - we were supportive of each other but could find humor in our dog's antics.

We have been to a few other camps, and have trained and run many agility dogs.  We ran our puppies in the Formula 1 Group (Novice)  it was just the right level for them.  We spoke of handling techniques and executed them all with Katie.  Katie was very clear on front and rear crosses and helped us place them correctly.  We worked on obstacle performance and problems with Jessica.  Jessica was very patient with any issues and extremely precise on how to train obstacles from scratch.
